We are disappointed to report that despite your committee’s presentation of a full, comprehensive package to the employer, which included improvements on job security, no contracting out language, workload and wages, including wage equity for the vast majority of our bargaining unit who is 85 per cent female, the employer continued its pattern of non-committal responses to our proposals.
Although the employer claims to take our issues seriously, its continued lack of ability to deliver a formal response to our positions has made it difficult to move forward in bargaining and has left your committee frustrated.
However, we will not rush into an agreement that does not meet members’ needs.
Your committee is dedicated to taking the time necessary to achieve a fair collective agreement that respects your worth and does more to treat you as equal members of the AHS health-care team. Now is the time to push for improved language that protects your job and improves your well being.
