Bargaining Update - November 27, 2015
Your bargaining committee has confirmed that mediation with Mr. Andrew Sims and Alberta Health Services will begin Dec. 2 in Edmonton.
This is a positive step toward restarting the negotiations process and achieving the fair and reasonable collective agreement you deserve.
It also allows us to avoid the long, drawn out route of interest arbitration. Interest arbitration would not begin until February 2016.
Bargaining in bad faith complaint:
Your union will proceed with the bargaining in bad faith complaint we reinstated with the Alberta Labour Relations Board in September againstAHS.
The complaint surfaced from the AHS administration’s push to move collective bargaining backwards. A move AUPE argues is potentially illegal.
We will update members on both mediation and the bad faith complaint as information becomes available.
Your bargaining committee is dedicated to keeping you informed throughout the bargaining process.
